my yoga journey

Yoga has been an important part of my life for more than 50 years.  I first began studying and practicing following an injury to my back while in university.
Over the years, I used yoga again and again to bring myself back to health and wholeness after an injury or illness.  When I felt well, my yoga practice became less important, because after all, I was busy raising my family and earning a living.
I still did yoga, but occasionally, as a treat to myself, because I felt so great after a practice, deeply relaxed with a calm sense of well being. My yoga journey had many twists and turns, coming and goings and being sidetracked by life circumstances.
Finally overtaken by arthritis and fibromyalgia, I left my work and retreated to a yoga ashram for several months to heal.  It was there that yoga claimed me completely, not only for the return to health, but to become the  abounding joy of my heart.
I devote myself to the study and practice of yoga and am privileged to now teach yoga to others to share that joy and grace.
